Occupy!! Your Eight Functions

Overview：

Occupy!! Your Eight Functions is a board game for 2-4 players. The game is inspired by the eight cognitive functions from Carl Jung's assessment scale.
Players need to "occupy" function areas on the map based on the Activation Cards to activate the Function Cards in their hands to score points. The game has two rounds, and at the end, players add up their points from the areas they “occupied”. The player with the most points wins!

Introduction：

The Myers-Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI) psychological assessment is popular, but in reality, not many people delve deeply into the foundations behind it -- Jung's psychological types, the Big Five model, and so on.

The design concept of this board game is inspired by the eight cognitive functions from Jung's assessment scale. The goal is to allow players to enjoy the gameplay while gaining insights into these eight functions, helping them analyze their own or others' personality types.

Gameplay：

Players need to "claim" areas on the map based on the Function Cards in their hands to score points. Each game consists of two rounds: the first round focuses on claiming areas of the extraverted functions, and the second round on the introverted functions.

The game ends when there are no cards left in the draw pile and all players have played their hands. Afterward, players calculate the points for the claimed areas, and the player with the highest score wins.

【Function Contention】

Symmetrical territory is assigned to co-axial functions, for example, Ne (Extraverted Intuition) and Si (Introverted Sensing) are co-axial, so they are positioned opposite each other. The same principle applies to the other functions.

【Why are there two rounds?】

It's divided into two parts: the extraverted function battle and the introverted function battle.

The extraverted functions are: 1, 2, 3, and 4 functions, while the introverted functions are: 5, 6, 7, and 8 functions.

Every personality type has these eight functions, but people tend to use the extraverted functions more comfortably than the introverted ones. Therefore, the scoring for the first round of claiming areas will also be higher.
